Addiction, heartbreak, and the darkness that finds them on the Lower East Side stalks them and shadows their every move. "Very few people get to walk down the street knowing that they're truly and utterly alone. It made me meaner, stronger - gave a healthy perspective." -Dennis the Bouncer
The novel opens in Brooklyn, and moves through a squat on the Lower East side to an area now known as NoLita. Zeke, his girlfriend and his best friend struggle to stay ahead of their addictions, complications and an increasingly gentrified world. Zeke keeps one foot firmly grounded in his Bronx upbringing, but finds that the world is not what he hopes it to be, and that even his girlfriend and his shapely best friend don't understand his worldview, and are doing some very alarming things to survive.
